In Genesis, God says, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” There is no ambiguity in this – one man, one woman – for life. Our culture has allowed Satan, the father of lies, to create confusion about this truth.
As part of Community Issues Council's (CIC) mission to help elect candidates with a Biblical Worldview, candidates are asked specifically about their position on this issue. Candidates for all offices have an influence on this. Think about it this way. There are elected officials at different levels who:
Make laws governing what is acceptable in our society.
Appoint judges who might ultimately make rulings on those laws.
Establish future views on the subject with educational materials that are given to our children.
CIC will do everything possible within our realm of influence to add a Biblical perspective to any discussion of the topic.
